Chantlanta celebrated its 10 year anniversary this year and we were there to celebrate with them. Chantlanta is a 3 day sacred music festival with a focus on music, service to the community and spiritual practices. During this festival there were a variety of workshops, chanting concerts and local vendors selling amazing crafts, art and services. The thing that drew me to Chantlanta was the chanting headliner, Krishna Das. If you have never heard of Krishna Das you need to check him out on Youtube or Google Play. His music is amazing, energetic and inspiring. As I have been following…

I just had my most unique hotel stay at the Highland Inn in Atlanta. I say unique stay because this isn’t your standard cookie cutter hotel. This old hotel was established in 1927 and has stayed true to it’s old charms. Some people even report that this hotel is haunted. We chose to stay at the Highland Inn because it was a short walk to Chantalanta and had a great price. There were some definite pros and cons to this choice. November 10, 2018 a 16 mile missing section of this road has been opened. You can now drive from Chilhowee Lake to Wears Valley to complete a beautiful 33 mile drive. This beautiful drive includes scenic views of Townsend, Gregory Bald, the Unicoi Mountains, Clingman’s Dome, Thunderhead…

We spend our morning on one of our favorite trails in the Smokes, The Chimneys. It’s been several years since we’ve been on the Chimney trail. The last time we did this hike we took our two kiddos who were 3 and 8 and the time. This is not an easy trail as it is a mostly uphill. You have to climb numerous stairs to get to the…
