always eat after 7pm

You can always count on me to be brutally honest when it comes to health and fitness tips. That is why I feel it necessary to finish out my Always Eat After 7PM with some final thoughts about the book and the theories Joel Marion lays out in his book.

First things first:

Each individual is different. I have never been a believer that one particular diet will work for everyone. That is why I am going to tell you some of the key things to expect from Always Eat After 7PM so that you aren’t surprised when you read the book. This will give you a chance to decide if this is right for you.

Here is an explanation of some of the myths Joel Marion busts and how they really work.

MYTH: EATING FOOD AFTER 7 pm MAKES YOU FAT.

Joel does an excellent job of busting this myth with science based evidence.

“Late-night eating also curbs calorie intake the next day. In a four-week study, dieters added a snack to their daily regimen 90 minutes after dinner every night, and check this out: late-night eaters ate an average of 397 fewer calories per day.”

Now before you get too excited about this I want to give you a probably obvious heads up. Just because you can eat after 7PM this doesn’t mean you can eat just anything. Skip the cookies and chips and grab some berries and yogurt instead. Not quite as fun, but it will leave you feeling better in the end.

MYTH: EATING CARBS AFTER 7 pm PACKS ON POUNDS.

Carbs are not discouraged in Always Eat After 7PM. But you can’t go crazy on just any carbs.

“Specific higher-carbohydrate foods (including berries and cherries) support your fat-burning metabolism while you sleep, providing your body with a steady stream of fuel throughout the night. The trick is knowing how to combine them with other evening and pre-bedtime fat-burning foods to fuel your metabolism as you sleep.”

Are you a breakfast skipper?

If so this might be the perfect book for you. Always Eat After 7PM highly encourages intermittent fasting. That is one of the reasons this book appealed to me. I am rarely hungry in the mornings so this was an easy sell.

As you are looking for a diet just remember to find a diet that will easily fit with your lifestyle. You will want to find a diet that you can make tweaks to your current lifestyle to give yourself the boost that you need to drop some pounds. If you are a breakfast skipper, a late night snacker and don’t want to give up carbs, Always Eat After 7PM might be a good fit for you.
