Rest up

The best way you are going to aid recovery from any sort of injury is rest, a lot of people try to rush back to doing things and do not rest enough. You should try and increase the hours you sleep. This will give your body more time to help heal your injury and recover quicker and more effectively as it is hard to rest during the day just reduce your impact on the injury then use the night to rest it. Your body will tell you when you are ready to return to working out or doing more vigorous exercise, if it hurts then it is not done recovering so listen to your body and rest to help you get back to health quicker. If you have lower leg injuries then you can look into compression socks for while resting which can aid recovery, you can get the facts on compression socks online.

Rehabilitate to the maximum where you can

If you see a doctor or physiotherapist for your injury it is likely they will give you a timeframe in which you can start going back to your full physical activity you were at before. You need to follow this timeframe and aim for the longer time if you can, for example if they give you 3-6 months in rehab then aim for the six months as this will allow you to return at full fitness and be able to compete on a high level instead of leaving a chance of aggravating the injury or not being able to do things you could before.

Remain positive

This will help you stay on track for recovery but will also help you mentally as well, you need to remain positive throughout the whole rehab. Obviously it is not possible to always be positive so it is ok to have some down days, but remain as positive as possible as it will help you to get through your recovery and try to focus on other things for your hobby while you recovery as distracting yourself can help you stop getting down when thinking about what you want to be doing.
