I’m going to let you all in on a little secret. You have to promise not to tell anyone. Ok, here goes. I’m NOT perfect!! Boy, it feels good to say that out loud. I may put on this appearance that I work out 7 days a week multiple times a day and eat nothing but clean healthy foods. But that is far from the truth.
I do workout a lot. On average I probably workout 5-6 days a week either following one of my Beachbody programs or following my half marathon training schedule. There are mornings when I wake up at 6:15am so I can get my workout in before everyone wakes up. But there are LOTS of mornings that I skip my workout all together and scramble to get my workout in in the evenings. There are even days when I *gasp* don’t workout at all!!
Now for my eating, that’s the area that still needs the most work. I still have a slight addiction to fast foods and sweets. I love to eat some french fries, cakes and cookies. And I love to unwind in the evenings with an occasional good beer. These are all things that Autumn Calabrese would tell me to go without while going through 21 Day Fix Extreme. I’ve been going through 21 Day Fix for 22 Days now and I hate to admit how many of those days have been utter failures when it comes to eating. But I just pick up the next day and try to do better.
The way I see it is that I am at least recognizing the areas where I still need improvement. I may not get there next week, next month or next year. But each day I try a little harder to make positive lifestyle changes and feel myself getting healthier and stronger.
That’s all I ask any of my challengers to do. Just move a little more than you moved yesterday. Drink one less soda than you did yesterday until you have replaced every soda with a glass of water. Eat a little less sugar everyday. And overall just take one day at a time to live a happier, healthier life. You will get there!! Don’t beat yourself up and give up if you have a bad day!
