nyc family friendly

Is NYC a Family Friendly Vacation Spot? Before visiting NYC, I was iffy about it whether I would want to bring the kids or not because you hear all of these horror stories about New York City, about all the crime and it’s scary. It’s just scary to get around up here. But, I’ve got to tell you we’ve not had that experience at all. This place has been amazing.

New York City has been a really, really fun vacation spot for the kids. I highly recommend this for a vacation spot for your family. There’s so much to do up here for kids. We have not had a moment where we’ve been bored and like, “Huh. What are we going to do today?” There’s always something to do up here, and I’ve always felt safe walking around with the kids. We’ve felt safe on public transportation. We’ve taken buses. We’ve taken the subway now. Much to my surprise, we have survived New York City with the kids.

Let me tell you a little secret. The New Yorkers may be mad at me about this. But, you know how you always hear that New Yorkers are mean and rude? That’s not the case. They’re actually nice people. There are lots of nice people up here. They are just in a hurry and don’t have time for idle chit chat like we do in the south.  So, don’t let that myth run you away from New York. It’s been awesome up here.

I cannot speak highly enough of the city. I don’t want to go home. Our kids don’t want to go home. We want to live up here. It’s been amazing, amazing. I’ll do more video and blog posts about specific things that we’ve done up here including our experience going to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and going to all the museums.

  14. […] New York City is popular for many things, like its dynamic energy and colorful culture. But what you don’t see in the movies is that winters there can get pretty unforgiving. To prevent the snow from reaching inside, citizens call in experts from companies like Top Hat Home Services or Add Ventures to clear their gutters. This not only ensures that the downspouts don’t crack because of the weight of debris, but it also prevents the water from going into the drainage system and freezing the pipes. […]
