Is NYC a Family Friendly Vacation Spot? Before visiting NYC, I was iffy about it whether I would want to bring the kids or not because you hear all of these horror stories about New York City, about all the crime and it’s scary. It’s just scary to get around up here. But, I’ve got to tell you we’ve not had that experience at all. This place has been amazing.
New York City has been a really, really fun vacation spot for the kids. I highly recommend this for a vacation spot for your family. There’s so much to do up here for kids. We have not had a moment where we’ve been bored and like, “Huh. What are we going to do today?” There’s always something to do up here, and I’ve always felt safe walking around with the kids. We’ve felt safe on public transportation. We’ve taken buses. We’ve taken the subway now. Much to my surprise, we have survived New York City with the kids.
Let me tell you a little secret. The New Yorkers may be mad at me about this. But, you know how you always hear that New Yorkers are mean and rude? That’s not the case. They’re actually nice people. There are lots of nice people up here. They are just in a hurry and don’t have time for idle chit chat like we do in the south. So, don’t let that myth run you away from New York. It’s been awesome up here.
I cannot speak highly enough of the city. I don’t want to go home. Our kids don’t want to go home. We want to live up here. It’s been amazing, amazing. I’ll do more video and blog posts about specific things that we’ve done up here including our experience going to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and going to all the museums.
Thanks! I’ve never taken my kids to New York, but it was the first place they went when they grew up. Isn’t it funny that you hear certain cultures and locations are rude? Normally people respond in kind- so you must have been nice.
Maaaaaaaan I miss NYC! It looks like you had a fun vacation there. Hope to go back there sometime soooooon
We went to NY years ago, before the kids, and have been planning to do another trip with them for years. it just has not happened but i recall loving every part of our trip there
It is my dream to vist NYC one day, hopefully it will be something I get to do
im glad you enjoyed your vacations and had nice experience there. the utmost necessary thing is you felt safe there.
I stay in Hamburg NewYork, when I shifted here first I thought the same that they r rude but now yes I agree with the last part there r many nice people here.

Glad you had such a good trip with your kiddos! Looks like they had a blast!
I have never been to NYC before but I am glad it’s a family-friendly vacation, will have to go visit one day with my family.
I wouldn’t mind visiting NYC along with my family; as long as we already know what we’ll do there, we gotta go!
It’s funny, but I went to NYC as a kid and wasn’t in love with it, but now I 100% am!
I used to live in New York City and this is so true. The problem with New York is also its greatest benefit. It has absolutely everything. That means that you can find all the wrong things, or all the right things. You just have to know where to look.
