Cool Off with a Gourmet Popsicle

It’s summertime, it’s hot and naturally my kids want something cold to eat. And let’s face it so do I. After swim lessons yesterday I decided to take the kids to check out the local popsicle store I’ve been hearing so much about, Pop Culture. We have now found our new favorite spot to cool down.

This is a family run business. As a family business owner myself, I just love supporting other family businesses. The store is decorated in bright inviting colors and even has a little children’s picnic table set up with coloring sheet and crayons. We were made to feel right at home when we were greeted.

Now onto the yummy part, the popsicles! The popsicles aren’t your average popsicle you would buy at the store. These are gourmet popsicles made with fresh ingredients. They even use local ingredients from the local farmer’s market when they can. I love that I wasn’t loading my kids up with a bunch of artificial sugars and ingredients. This is a dessert I can actually feel good about giving them!

My son had mango, my daughter had banana puddin’ and I had strawberry lemonade. My strawberry lemonade was amazing. So fresh and juicy! My daughter ate through her popsicle fast enough that I didn’t get to have a taste of banana puddin’. My only complaint was that my son really enjoyed his mango, but when he got full he threw it away rather than letting me finish it off. Wasteful little guy!

I highly recommend all of my Knoxville friends go check them out. They are located directly across the street from West High School. I have a feeling business is going to be booming for them when school starts back! I know that would have been my go-to place before and after football games! You can also find them at all of the local farmer’s market and a few select stores including The Market in Maryville, Hard Knox Pizzeria and Three Rivers Market. For more information on their upcoming locations be sure to follow them on Facebook and Twitter and of course check out their web site.

  1. What a fun little place to go to for a summertime treat! Nothing like a popsicle on a hot day! Loved the pictures that help tell the story.
