Action Makes Change Happen

action makes change happen

This year I made the choice to figure out how to live a happier life. I have a tendency to get a little down on myself and be a little self-critical. I decided it is time to change that and it’s time to be at least try to be a little more optimistic. This may have the wrong year to take on this challenge, but it’s something that I’m still determined to do and I would love to inspire you all to go on this journey with me.

I will post some challenges from time to time for you. Hopefully, this will help inspire you all to be a little happier even when times are tough and especially when times are tough.

My challenge for you all today is to do something for yourself to make yourself happier. Make one small change that will set yourself up for success. I’m not going on this journey alone. I have a very good friend of mine who is a coach who is inspiring me and walking this journey with me. She actually wrote a book called Falling In Happy with You.  Here is one of her challenges in her book.

“Complaining doesn’t make change happen, neither does talking about it. The doing part is where change happens! What will you do for yourself today that will make a difference in how you feel tomorrow?”

Complaining doesn't make change happen, neither does talking about it. the doing part is where change happens! What will you do for yourself today that will make a difference in how you feel tomorrow-

One of the things I did for myself today is instead of waking up and immediately grabbing my phone and scrolling through my email and scrolling through Facebook and seeing all the negative news is going on, I decided to get back into my normal routine and wake up workout before I have time to talk myself out of it. Then I got the kids ready for school. It actually worked! I didn’t get on Facebook until about eleven o’clock.

I felt like my mood was drastically improved by that. I feel like it still is improved because I gave myself time to mentally prepare for the negative stuff that I was about to see, instead of starting the morning with negative news.

That’s something that I did for myself this morning and that I’m going to continue to make it a habit of. What is one small thing that you can do to change your day?
