Being a Mom is not easy. There are always a thousand things going around in your mind and even more things to do. With all this responsibility, you may wonder how on earth you can get some self-care into your regime. Well, the truth is, your ability to practice self-care is not only important for you, it is important for your whole family. Remember your children are watching everything you do and if you a good to yourself, they will pick up on this. Therefore you are creating a good role model. Moreover, if you do not practice self-care, you run the risk of getting overly stressed and burning out. This is not good for anyone involved. So, let’s look at some ways you can practice more self-care.

Start Saying No

When it comes to our responsibilities and not having enough hours in the day, in many cases there are things you can do about it. Although some things are mandatory, you can start elimination the non-mandatory things in your life. To do this, you have to start saying no. If you have become a bit of a people pleaser, then it may be very difficult to do this at first. However, you do not have to be rude about it, and prioritizing your own life above others is not selfish. It is a wise life choice. If you get invited to an event one evening during the week, and you know you are tired and don’t really have the time, then politely decline. Once you start seeing the benefits of having more time for yourself and your family, you will feel more confident to decline things and little favors in the future. 

Your Diet

Consistently eating the wrong foods is not a great way to live your life. Eating the right foods, on the other hand, can help you lose weight, prevent you from coming down with illnesses and diseases, give you more energy and it is also a great way to show your children how to eat properly too. Swap unhealthy snacks for fruit and get creative in the kitchen. Remember, it doesn’t always have to be massively healthy. You can just get to grips with cooking from scratch, which is the healthiest food. You can also make some great desserts like ooey gooey s’mores dip. The more you get used to cooking, the easier it will become.

Drink More Water

Did you know that as many as three-quarters of all American adults are estimated to be dehydrated? The fact is that this will be doing the,m a lot of harm. Dehydration can cause stress, headaches, confusion, dizziness, low blood pressure, and that is just for starters. Over time it can develop into much more serious conditions. Drinking more water will give you more energy, help you lose weight, lubricate your joints, so if you have ever had joint pain or suffer from arthritis, you should drink more water as it may offer some relief. It can also help your organs function better too.
