Race to 50 – 50 Races in 50 States

Race to 50It’s time for me to put my running shoes back on and get back in the game! I have a new challenge for myself! I’m going to run in at least one race in all 50 states before I turn 50. Anyone else game for this challenge?

I have 14 years to complete this challenge. So far I’ve only competed in races in my home state, Tennessee. I’ve got my work cut out for me. This challenge is going to knock out at least 3 of the items on my bucket list, and probably many bucket list items I haven’t thought of.

  1. Visiting all 50 states
  2. Running a race in all 50 states
  3. Complete at least 1 full marathon

Here is where I need your help. I want to hear from you! What are your favorite races in your state? Or what are some of your favorite races you have completed across the United States? I’m looking for races from anything from color runs to full marathons. I can’t wait to hear from you!

  1. the Indy Mini in Indiana is a must do. You get to run around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. If you’re an IU fan, there is 5K and half in Bloomington that runs through the IU campus. I love our Back to Football 5K that finishes on the Indianapolis Colts football field. Several football teams do a race similar to this. I also love the Santa Hustle series. They have various races in various states. Gosh I could go on and on. Highly recommend the Kauai Half for your Hawaii race 😉

  2. Best of luck to you on this goal! I don’t run, but I’d love to do a cross-country road trip to visit a bunch of national parks someday!

  3. Way to go! I am currently doing the same thing. I have finished about 15 states. A must do run is the 7 Mile Bridge Run in Marathon, Florida. Also the half marathon in Bryce Canyon.

  4. You are truly a great fighter. You have a great goal and I am sure that you will achieve it. Yes, I am going to take a goal like this though right now going to visit couple of states. So hopefully I will be able to achieve my goal as well.
