If you are looking for a nice, posh place to stay while you are in Las Vegas, Mandalay Bay is the place for you. This massive resort offers tons of amenities and things to do for all ages. And you are sure to get a good night’s sleep in their massive comfortable rooms. Here is my breakdown of the pros and cons of Mandalay Bay.
The Rooms
We stayed in the resort 2 queen room. This 550 square foot room had plenty of space for our family of 4. The beds were super comfortable. We had a great view of the pool below us where they shot off fireworks for New Year’s. And we had a massive bathroom with a huge soaking tub and separate shower. Just be aware of the mini bar. If you don’t want to be hit with a massive charge don’t even look at the mini bar and don’t take anything out of the fridge to make room for your own stuff. You will be charged.
The Amenities
During the warmer months you can take advantage of Mandalay Beach. This beach has a huge wave pool, a lazy river and a variety of pools with poolside bars. There is also a 21 and up area where there is always a party happening.
You can also check out the Shark Reef Aquarium. This aquarium is home to over 2,000 animals including sharks, giant rays, endangered sea turtles, piranha and a komodo dragon. You can feed the sharks, sting rays and turtles. If you are feeling super adventurous you can even swim with the sharks.
You don’t want to miss Happy Place. This is a huge interactive pop-up exhibit with massive installations and multi-sensory themed rooms. Find your happy place by exploring these fun rooms.
The Casino
This massive casino has all of the slot games you could ever want to play, tons of table games and bars spread throughout the casino. Don’t forget to sign up for a free M Life membership before you visit Mandalay. You can rack up tons of points to redeem for free rooms and meals.
Getting Around
The only downside to Mandalay Bay is that it is located at the very southside of the Las Vegas Strip. They do offer a free tram that goes from Mandalay Bay up to New York, New York. You can stop off at Luxor and Excalibur along the way. This makes getting around a little easier on your feet. And the tram is a super fun ride for the kids.
I would love to visit Mandalay Bay again in the summer months so that we could take advantage of the beach. I hate that we missed out since it was so cold while we were there. Mandalay Bay is definitely near the top of my list for best resorts of Las Vegas.
[…] Mandalay Bay was the second resort we stayed at. In the Goldilocks comparison, it was a little too posh and fancy for our taste. Don’t get me wrong it was beautiful. The room was gorgeous and super comfortable. But I want a fridge where I can put my own stuff. And with Mandalay Bay being at the very south side of the strip it was a little too far away from everything. Read my full review here. […]
