Being a busy person can feel overwhelming at times and it can really affect your family time if you feel like you are always doing something and never get a second to even sit down and have a rest. It can negatively affect your health as well, but there are some ways that you can save time and be more efficient in tasks to help you have more time during the week to spend with your loved ones or have a bath to relax.

Cooking Dinners

Cooking a healthy and home-cooked meal every day can be very time consuming and you may find yourself in the kitchen cooking while your family are sitting in the lounge relaxing and having fun. There are a few ways you can help yourself lessen the time in the kitchen and be more present. If you plan your meals you can look to do some batch cooking over the weekend so when you are busy in the week with work and school you aren’t also having to spend hours in the kitchen.

So simply plan what dinners you are going to have that week and see how you can prepare ahead of time. It could be something simple like peeling and cutting the vegetables and then putting them back in the fridge. Or if you are making something like a cottage pie, you could make it up and just not bake it. Have it covered and ready in the fridge so when you get home and need to prepare dinner all you have to do is pop it in the oven and wait for it to cook. Don’t forget to include the families favourites and if it doesn’t take long to cook perhaps get the family involved to help make it so you can still bond like making Mississippi style boneless short ribs recipe which would be a family favourite and something fun for everyone to get involved with.

Share The Load

A lot of the time in the household, cleaning and tidying typically falls on the mother. This isn’t always the case but most of the time it is left to one person to deal with. A simple and effective way of dealing with this is by sharing the workload. You can do that by getting a chore list to get the kids involved which they can be rewarded at the end of the week once they have done all their chores. If you have a bit of disposable income you can also look at perhaps hiring a cleaner one day a week just to take the edge off and give you a bit of a break.

Declutter Your Home

One of the culprits is simply having too much stuff, a lot of the time we have so much stuff in our houses and a lot of it we no longer want or need. It then creates more mess, more dust to clean up and can make the house look messy. By decluttering you can eliminate some chores altogether.
