Daytona Lagoon: A Hidden Waterpark Adventure for the Whole Family

Daytona Lagoon

daytona lagoon

Daytona Lagoon, a hidden water park adventure for the whole family. Nested deep in the middle of Daytona Beach, Florida is a water park comparable to Dollywood Splash Country or Kentucky Splash. This water park is located in the heart of Daytona Beach at Oceanwalk Village right next to the Ocean Center. It has attractions and lots of fun for the whole family. They have laser tag, go carts, mini golf, arcade games and last but not least a huge water park includes complete with 6 water slides, a lazy river, wave pool, kid area, a bar and food stand. Including and Icee which I haven’t had since I shopped at Weigel’s since the 90’s. One of the cool things about the park is that it’s located across the street from the beach. Parking garage is huge where you can park and walk next door to the amusement park. Price of is admission moderate and in the fairness of full disclosure our family received free tickets to the amusement park. The cost of tickets is $27.99 for adults and $20.99 for kids. There are discounts available for Florida residents and if you purchase tickets online.

Inside the park everything is for sale, meaning that you get a debit card that is only for use inside the amusement park. And with it it’s easy to give your kids a budget to curb uncontrolled spending. Laser tag is in a 3,000 square foot arena filled with fog and high energy music. It would be fun if you had a group of people. The mini golf course looked decent and wound around under the water slides and over the lazy river.

Daytona Lagoon Slide

The slides were in really good condition and were a lot of fun. There were no lines for any of the slides. However, I was told by one of the parks workers that this was not normal and they were expecting a bump in traffic soon.

One of the things that stood out to me was the vigilance of the lifeguards. The lifeguards I saw seemed to be very focused on protecting the kids and watching for any incident to occur and not distracted by their phones or talking to people.

The workers at the park were very helpful and personable. I got a pizza for $15 which fed my family of 4. I had beers at the bar with other people there at the park. All I can say about that is why is there not a bar at every amusement park?

Tidal Pool

We spent a lot of time in the tidal pool. The tidal pool is a lot of fun. My 3 year old loved the tidal pool. The tidal pool is just a huge swimming pool but every 10 minutes or so waves start coming at you. Not huge ways, but just enough waves to have fun. There again the watchful eye of the lifeguards was evident and children were often called out for horseplay and breaking rules.

Daytona Lagoon Kid Slides

The kids area was very nice. Very colorful and a lot of fun. On the day we were there the huge bucket up top was broken. They just had the water diverted back around to the play structure. There were 4 smaller slides that were no problem for my cautious 8 year old girl to go down.

My favorite big ride was Blackbeard’s Revenge. You are just going down a dark tunnel in a boat. My 3 year old son loved it and wanted to do it over and over and over again. First world problems…

Overall we had a great time. The whole family. There is stuff there to do for everyone in the family. At all engagement levels. Some of the most fun we had was just sitting around the park in the lounge chairs that were a plenty spaced out throughout the park, some of which were even in the shade. We recommend this park to anyone visiting the Daytona area.

On a personal note, thank you to my husband Daniel for helping me produce this review and bringing us on this amazing vacation. With my best friend by my side we are unstoppable.
