Imagine you are running errands with your 2 or 3 year old. You fasten them into their car seat and go on your merry way thinking they are nice and secure. When you get to your destination you realize somewhere along the way they have unbuckled the seat belt holding their car seat in place. You thank your lucky stars that nothing bad happened while they were unbuckled. I don’t know about you all, but this has happened to me with my 3 year old. It scared the crap out of me to know he knew how to unbuckled the seat belt holding his car seat in place. What is a parent to do in a situation like this? You can scold your child, but at that age they don’t truly understand how unsafe it is to unbuckle their car seat.
Luckily there is a device out there that can solve this problem, Beltlock. Beltlock is super easy to use. It’s just a small cover that fits right over your seat belt that keeps your child from being able to unbuckle the seat belt. When you need to remove it all you have to do is slide something skinny like a key or coin between one of the slots of unbuckle the seat belt. Beltlock was super easy for me to install and remove.
I highly recommend Beltlock for any parents of toddlers and preschoolers for peace of mind. You don’t want to run the risk of your child breaking their car seat free.
If you are interested in learning more about Beltlock you can visit their web site, like them on Facebook or follow them on Twitter.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
I always say anything to keep the kids from moving out of those seats! We used this type of buckle when our kids were smaller.. It make that belt unmovable!
What a great product! I am lucky and that has never happened to me but I do know friends whos kids have done that! I love this idea! Car safety is very important!
What a great idea! Kids are so sneaky. I’m glad my daughter isn’t old enough to figure out how to do this yet, but I’m sure she will before I know it. :/
What a great idea! I could totally see my 4 year old doing that. I’m going to check this out.
Thanks for this post, I’m always talking about car seat safety with our children! So important!
I had an unbuckler child and this would have been perfect for me. HE drove me insane trying to keep him buckled up.
This is fabulous! My neice is 3 and thinks she’s so funny when she unbuckles her self. She uses a big booster seat and is too smart for her own good. We need to pick one of these up!
This is a great idea. My son tries to get out of his car seat!
That is very awesome! Safety first always! I may need to invest in one 🙂 for future babies
This is such a smart idea! Safety is key 🙂
I love this! I have a very mechanically minded younger son who just craves finding out how things work, even to his detriment! I hope they sell these in the UK soon too.
Such an awesome idea!
Great to read about an additional safety belt for our children. I’m glad there are new designs to prevent ejection in an accident.
