I’m not really one to jump on diet bandwagons. I tend to think that diets set people up for failure in most cases. I recently came across a book titled “Always Eat After 7”. Even though I hate diets, the title had me intrigued. What the heck is this guy talking about? This goes against everything every doctor, fitness expert and dietician has ever said. Naturally I had to read this book that goes against the grain.
So here’s the deal. I’m going to put this guy’s diet to the test. I’m going to follow his 3 phase plan and see how this goes. I’m not thinking it will be a huge deal for me to follow. A big part of this diet includes intermittent fasting which is something that I already do 4-5 days a week.

In the first chapter of the book Joel Marion debunks some of the common myths around eating after 7pm. These myths include late-night eating slows down your metabolism, late-night eating interferes with digestion and eating carbs after 7pm packs on pounds. I was actually surprised by the science behind these myth busters.
Why do I want to give this a try?
- On most nights I’m hungry in the evenings
- I’m already practicing intermittent fasting
- I want to see if this diet really does give me a boost of energy with a side of weight loss
- I don’t like depriving myself

This sound so opposite of everything I’ve been taught but I’m very curious if this works. If traditional methods do not work as well maybe going in the opposite direction would help!

While I intermittent fast already, eating after 7pm is so counter-intuitive for me. Most things I have read say not to eat for 3 to 4 hours before you go to bed. I need to read this book!
Sounds like an interesting diet. Definitely sounds different then what has come before.
OMW…this is like the total opposite I’ve ever been told! But I must say I much prefer this idea…coz holy moly I snack waaaaaay too much later on in the evenings! I’ve definitely got to get my hands on this book and give it a go!
While I have not read this book, we normally tend to eat our dinner only after 7 pm, so will read this to find out how it helps..
