Feature of the Week: Jen’s Tangled Threads
The feature of this week is Jen’s Tangled Threads. Jen’s Tangled Threads specializes in Flip Furs, a cross between flip flops and slippers, inspired by the girls her young son dances with. Here is her bio from her Etsy shop:
“I started my shop initially to sell my shawls. I make lace shawls that I designed. I see my lace as a spider’s web – tangled into intricate designs.
I started making Flip-Furs because of the girls my son dances with. A lot of the girls walk around competition venues with little or nothing on their feet. They are walking into the bathrooms like this. I wanted to create something for them that they would wear around these venues, something that would show their studio spirit. Something pretty and girly.
I looked at what other studios did. Most of them decorated thong flip flops, but that wouldn’t work for these girls. I needed something that the girls could wear over half-ballet shoes or with full-footed tights.
Flip-Furs are the love child of slippers and flip-flops. They are furry, fun and comfortable.”
