At the risk of sounding whiny I’ve got to tell you all the past month (with the exception of our 4-day weekend vacation) has been pretty rough. For the first time in 3 years, I’ve been sick. About a month ago I was feeling kind of achy and tired. I figured I just didn’t get enough sleep and my seasonal allergies were getting the best of me. The next week I completely lost my voice and all of my energy was just gone. I sucked it up and went to the doctor. Turns out I had bronchitis.
This is the first time I’ve ever had bronchitis and let me tell you it sucked (still kind of sucks). The non-stop coughing and shortness of breath was killing me. I couldn’t work out. My appetite was gone. And I was getting very poor sleep because of the coughing.
Ok, ok. So yeah, all of that sucked. And I know you are sick of my sob story. So here is what I’m going to do to make things better.
I started feeling better while I was at the beach (the beach heals everything). Now that I’ve been back home for over a week the cough and stuffy nose is coming back. So the allergies have to be triggering something. So I’m getting back to taking my allergy medicine and diffusing my thieves oil everyday.
I’ve also been eating like crap and drinking too much. Being sick makes me just plain lazy, which means I tend to go for the processed easy meals. That certainly can’t be helping. So starting today I’m back to my clean eating and I’m going to follow my 21 Day Fix meal guide to get back on track.
I’ve also been slacking big time on working out. I went from working out 5-6 days a week to maybe 3 days a week at most. That trend also ends today. I woke up this morning and decided I’m going to start fresh with 21 Day Fix Extreme. My husband and I did plyo this morning. It was tough, but just what we needed to get our week off to the right start.
An amazing perk to getting back on track means that my cabinets and refrigerator are going to be filled with healthy foods rather than junk. This is going to force my kids to follow along with us and make healthier choices as well. No more grazing on chips and whatever other junk we had lying around.
So I’m putting this out there to the world that I’m taking control of my health. Has anyone else been struggling with your health this fall?
